DISCIPLESHIP
A person who commits him/her self to the discipline of following Jesus Christ in the world becomes his Disciple. Christian discipleship is a concept that was born when Jesus Christ hand-selected His first 12 followers. Christian discipleship is summed up in the Great Commission;

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18b-20)

Scripture Union discipleship programme is, FOCUSED on  Children and Youth
between ages of 6-20 years in Junior, Primary ans Secondary Schools

HOW DOES IT WORK?

SU staff identifies schools and establishes rapport with school administration for permission to run SU activities.
Scripture Union opens clubs in schools that welcome us which are called SCRIPTURE UNION (SU) clubs.
The school administration appoints a Patron (a Christian teacher) who oversees the day to day running of the club
Each club has a student committee that runs the club.
Membership is open to every one irrespective of age, class, tribe, color, religious affiliation etc

THE CLUB MEETING
The club meets regularly at least once a week for;
» Bible study
» Have Regular quiet time for members
» Memorize a verse per week
» Members must be attending a local church
» Should Organise evangelistic outreaches to reach the school community
» Should have at least a Bible for every 10 people.
» Keep a register for attendance
» Registered with SU office (10,000 annually, optional but encouraged)

The club should have,
» A trained Patron and trained committee by SU staff.
